Oh, Brother!

Well, today was the big ultrasound and fetus was kind enough to show us the goods.  Come the end of September, Kenzie will have a little brother!!!  I'm so excited and Steve is, too, since he won't be out numbered now :-p  I was about 90% sure and Steve was positive it was a girl. Looks like I won :-)  Kenzie doesn't really understand yet.  She just knows there's a baby in mommy's belly.  I'm sure she will adore him once he's here because she is smitten with my 2 month old nephew.  I'm also excited for my son and nephew to grow up together, being only 6 months apart in age.  I think they'll be best friends, which would be amazing.  I've had his name picked out since before I even got pregnant.  My dad's name is Jack so his first name with be Jaxon (Jax for short) and Steve's dear grandpa, who passed away 3 days before I found out I was pregnant, was named Stanley so that'll be his middle name. He's measuring right on schedule and his heart rate was 141.  We have to have another quick ultrasound in a month because she couldn't see his stomach. Hopefully he was just hunched and hiding it.
Oh, I'm just so excited!  Here are some of the first
pictures of little Jaxon. Enjoy :-)

Yep, he's a boy!

Buh-bye Binky & 19 weeks!

I know, I'm like the worst blogger ever!  I've accepted that title.  Anywho, not too much has been going on around here. We don't have the busy lives that every other family seems to have.  The biggest news I have is Kenzie kicked the binky all on her own!  It's been 2 weeks and she hasn't even asked for it.  I thought breaking her would be a nightmare but she made it fairly easy on us.  She has become such a big girl I just can't believe how fast she's growing up.  She's starting to speak in small sentences and she repeats everything we say, which isn't always a good thing :-/

I've been trying to get things ordered and ready for her birthday party next month.  I'm also having a really hard time figuring out what to get her for her birthday.  My parents ordered her a swingset which she already knows about and asks about every day.  We were thinking about getting a sandbox but she's never played in sand before and I don't want it to just sit there and go to waste. I think she'd like it more with other children to play with so we may get that next year when she has a sibling and a 1 year old cousin to play with.  Ah decisions decisions.
In other news, my pregnancy is going well. I've been feeling Little Fetus moving around and Kenzie gives "the baby" kisses every day.  My nausea has finally gone away...until my blood pressure goes up.  I see bedrest in my future.  Good way to spend the summer, eh?  Hopefully I can keep it under control.  I had my first glucose screening a few weeks ago and I must've passed since they didn't call me.  We have our gender ultrasound on May 26th and I really can't wait.  I've tried not to think about it too much and Kenzie has helped keep my mind off of it so this pregnancy is flying by!
Well, that's about all I have to say for now.  My next post will probably be after my ultrasound. Hopefully I'll have the gender for you :-)

-How far along? 19 weeks.

-Total weight gain/loss: Home scale says no gain :-)

-Maternity clothes? Jeans, but I can still fit into my regular jeans.
-Sleep: About 7 hours nonconsecutively, waking up to pee once or twice a night.

-Best moment this week: Nothing to do with the pregnancy, but the weather last week was amazing lol

-Food cravings: The past few days it's been peanut butter.
-Gender: I'm not confident on a guess but I'll say boy.
-Movement: Some flutters and kicks every now and then.

-What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender. Next week! (if fetus cooperates)

-What I miss: Deli meat.
-Words Of Wisdom: Take it easy.

-Milestones: Not gaining any weight is a milestone for me lol

14 Weeks

How far along? 14 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: My home scale says I've lost 5 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Jeans

Sleep: I get maybe 4 hours a night...nonconsecutively, and I've been having horrible dreams!

Best moment this week:  Pretty sure I've been feeling little Cletus the Fetus fluttering around.

Food cravings: Salty foods

Gender: Because of the salty food cravings, I'm saying boy.

Movement: I'm pretty sure I felt some little flutters the other day. Could've been gas. Idk.

What I am looking forward to: This horrible nausea and dizziness to go away!

What I miss: Deli meat.

Words Of Wisdom: Take it easy.

Milestones: Possibly feeling little fetus and not gaining weight!

My next appt is next Monday and I'm pretty sure they should've given me my sugary drink for my gestational diabetes test. Hmm I hope they don't push back my gender appt just to take that test. Hmph!

Lazy Blogger

Hello hello hello. I know it's been way too long, I'm a serious slacker.  Okay, here's what's been going on in the past month: I had another OB appt this past Monday and fetus is looking great!  Heartbeat was in the 170s and he/she is growing good.  I'll be 12 weeks on Monday, so I'm almost out of the oh so lovely 1st trimester.  I have 8 more weeks to go before I can find out the sex and I'm anxious lol.  Kenzie is so sweet.  Every morning she has to give the baby (ie. my belly) a kiss.  I think she's excited.
On Tuesday, March 22, my younger sister, Jessica, gave birth to her first child, a son named Jayden.  He is so precious!  Kenzie just adores him and so do I.  Aunt Kristie will definitely spoil him :-)  Here's my gorgeous nephew:
Jayden Robert. 7 lbs 7.1 oz and 21 in long <3

Here are some pics from our visit last night:
 Papaw with his grand-babies<3

Kenzie meeting her cousin for the first time.

She loves Jayden <3

I'm a proud aunt, as you can tell :-)  Mackenzie's been doing well.  We tried to start potty training.  She's peed in the potty a couple times.  A few weeks ago she told us she had to poop.  We sat her on her potty...
She sat there playing on Steve's cell phone.  I asked if she was going to go potty.  She said "No."  I said "You don't have to go poopy?"  She said "No."  So we let her stand up and...you guessed it...she pooped on the floor...right next to the potty.  Toddlers...so much fun lol.  So I don't think she's ready yet, and she still just plays in her diaper after pooping.  Sick kid.  Hopefully she can get the grasp of this whole potty thing before her sibling arrives.  I'm not ready for double diaper duty.
Well, that's what's been going on around here.  Hope you enjoyed this crazy, all over the place post.  Talk to you soon :-)

Ultra-safe and-Sound

Yesterday I FINALLY got the ultrasound we had been waiting for.  Turns out, I was right on the money on the due date...October 10, 2011!  But, due to repeat c-section, our little bean will be here Sept. 27th or 28th :-)
Here's what he/she looks like now:

Heartbeat was 148 and everything looks a-okay!  Now,  fetus bean is okay, but mama is not.  My nausea's been through the roof!  24/7...never a break.  Started about a week ago and hasn't let up.  I haven't thrown up, yet, but I kinda wish I would instead of just feeling like I'm going to all the live long day.  With Mackenzie, it was the "perfect" pregnancy.  I only had slight nausea at night for a couple weeks in the beginning, no big deal, and the usual wanting to sleep all the time, but that was nothing compared to how I feel with this one.  It's really kickin' my butt, that's for sure. Well, I'm heading off of here. Hope you're all doing well :-)

Quite Possibly TMI

Reader discretion is advised.  So, while I was pregnant with Mackenzie I had NO morning sickness.  Just a wee bit nausea at night for the first couple weeks, but that was it.  Well, this pregnancy is a whole new ball game.  I'm not throwing up and I'm not feeling too nauseous.  I'm just stuck on the toilet ALL day and ALL night.  I think you know what I mean.  This has been going on for over a week now so it has to be the pregnancy.  Has anyone else dealt with this symptom?  I can't think of anything I ate that would cause it...especially to go on this long.  I'm eating much healthier this time than last.  It's an extreme annoyance, but I think I prefer it over the throwing up.
If you've experienced this, or know someone who has, please give me advice on how to control it lol  Thank you much :-)

The Skinny

Odd title since I'm pregnant, right?  Well, I'm going to keep on with my "diet" and such.  I never lost the weight I gained with Mackenzie so I CAN'T gain weight with this pregnancy.  So yesterday when I posted the news, I was too antsy to think of what to write so you missed all the details of how we found out & reacted.  Well because of my weight (due to an unnatrual love of fast food) I had been having problems menstrating.  I only had 4 periods in 2010 and 1 of those was brought on by a pill prescribed by my OB/GYN.  Instead of going on that horrible pill again I decided to see if losing weight would help.  After a few weeks and 14 pounds lost I started feeling pretty blah.  I bought an ovulation test kit just to see and the first test I took came back positive.  I couldn't believe it.  I took another one the next day...positive.  Well, I got a positive result all week!  That's not normal so I looked up what would cause that.  2 things came  up: pregnangy and a cyst.  I figured it was probably a cyst because of all my problems.  A week later I decided to take a pregnancy test just to see and it came back negative.  Now I was sure it was a cyst.  I prepared to make a doctor's appt to get everything checked out.  A week later (Thursday, Jan. 27th) I took another pregnancy test so I would be 100% positive I was not pregnant before I went to the Dr.  Well...this is the test I took:

Yep, definitely didn't expect that to show up lol.  I was shaking so bad when I read that.  I was excited, yet nervous.  Kenzie is such a hand full all by herself, am I going to be able to handle 2 kids?  I think we all ask ourselves those questions.  I am very excited, though :-)  So I had my first Dr's appt yesterday and they confirmed it.  We have no clue when my due date is, though, but I'm guessing I'm about 5 weeks along which would put me due the beginning of October.  Steve's birthday is October 4th and my sister's is the 2nd.  Maybe we can shoot for the 3rd? LOL.
Well, that's how it all went down.  Crazy, huh?  I mean, what were the chances of  me getting a positive on my ovulation test the first try and then getting pregnant?  After not having a period for months?  It must be fate :-)  I'll definitely keep you all updated on this exciting time in our lives!

How far along? Not sure but I'm guessing 5 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: Lost 3 lbs since finding out.

Maternity clothes? Not yet, although I'm about to break out the jeans because they're so comfy.

Sleep: Pretty much none. Insomnia has made an unwelcome visit and doesn't look like it's leaving soon :-(

Best moment this week: Telling my family the news.

Food cravings: No appetite.

Gender: No clue.

What I am looking forward to: The birth of my first nephew in March, warm weather, going on adventures this summer, and of course the birth of my little bean lol

What I miss: Warm weather.

Words Of Wisdom: Don't let your child/children sleep in your bed.

Milestones: Pregnancy confirmed!

Well...

Did you read her shirt?  That's right, folks, Baby Cazzell #2 is on his/her way!!!  So excited...and nervous!  That's really all I have to say now because  I don't know when my due date is and I already have crazy heartburn.  Well, I had heartburn anyway :-p  Will post more when I know more :-)

Where have I been?

Sorry I haven't written in forever.  I get sidetracked very easily :-p  What's new in my neck of the woods?  Well,  I'm still doing well with my "diet."  I've lost 14 lbs so far, just by cutting calories & cutting out pop.
This week has been a crazy one for us.  Steve's grandpa passed away Monday night at the age of 96.  We had gone to visit him 3 hours before he passed. Very glad we decided to go because no one would have been by his side.  Steve & I also caught colds.  His is pretty much gone but mine is in full force.  Hoping I can at least get this coughing under control before the funeral tomorrow.
Kenzie's doing well.  She had her 18 month check-up this past Tuesday (yes, she'll be 19 months tomorrow) and she's healthy & thriving.  She is short & skinny though :-p  36 percentile in height & 38 percentile in weight.
Well, I'm going to go for now. Stay tuned, I may have some interesting news to share with you all soon :-)  Or am I just saying that to get you to read my blog? hahaha I guess you'll just have to find out!
Here is Steve, Kenzie & Steve's mom with his grandpa 1 month before he passed. RIP Stanley!!!

"No, Bob, no more squats!"

Bob, being Bob Harper.  I did one of his workouts yesterday and my goodness he about killed with with squats.  Today I did Hip Hop Abs & a 14 minute Biggest Loser workout.  I'm doing great with my diet, but I'm not losing at the rate I feel I should be. Ho hum.  I suppose everyone feels that way. I'm gonna keep working my butt off though.  How are you all doing with your New Year's resolutions?  Would love to hear about them :-)

And, because a post isn't a post without a pictue, here is Miss Mackenzie after she put her daddy's boots on :-p

Losing Weight & Feeling Great!

Well, it's January 6th and I'm still going strong on my lifestyle change!  Even though I've been sick with, what I'm hoping is only, a cold and I've been coughing, sneezing & sniffling, I've been working out at least an hour every day!  I'm SO proud of myself!!!  I told everyone I was serious about losing weight and becoming healthy and I meant every word of that.  Where do I get my motivation, you ask?
Right here:
Mackenzie has really given me a new look on life and really a purpose in this world.  I want to be around for her and I don't want her to be embarrassed by me...well...at least my weight :-p
Wondering how I'm doing it?  Here's a look into my daily routine:

Get up with Kenzie
Eat a bowl of oatmeal or Special K cereal
Drink a glass of water or skim milk
Do a 30 minute workout
Play with Kenzie
Housework
Put Kenzie down for a nap
Give Kenzie lunch
Lunch for myself: Tuna on whole wheat & 20 vegetable crackers with a glass of water
Do the "Just Sweat" on Just Dance 2
Play with Kenzie
Make supper (I'm not really strict of what I make, I just watch my portions)
Play with Kenzie some more.
Mess around online
Bed

Exciting, eh?  I've also limited myself to not eating past 6pm.  And I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.  Any questions, comments, words of encouragement, or advice please let me know!  Hope you're all keeping your New Year's resolutions!!!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!  Put your back into it.  Sorry, I had to lol Catch ya later.

Day 1 of the Diet

I actually started my "diet" yesterday, but didn't get to work out at all.  Today I hit it hardcore with a small bowl of Special K with a banana.  Then I did the Hip Hop Abs workout, all along with a crazy toddler pinching my butt and laughing :-p  Since I didn't feel like I was going to die, just pass out, I decided to play some Just Dance 2 on the Wii.  I feel amazing after doing all that!  I'll be down in the poundage in no time if I keep this up!  I always feel great after working out, it's just a matter if getting off my lazy butt to do it.  I need to, though, for Mackenzie and myself.  Who's with me?  Let's make 2011 the best year yet!!!

A look back at 2010

Before I get to my look back on 2010, let me just vent about these past couple of days.  Kenzie & I have been sick and it's just been awful around here.  Kenzie's been bawling pretty much non-stop which is extremely tiring (you mamas know that!).  Her attitude's been horrible anyway because she's gotten so much attention this week, so when it's just me & her dad around she's not getting enough attention to satisfy her in which case she screams and throws a hissy fit!  Steve goes back to work tomorrow which means I'm in for a ride with her, I just know it.  I am glad to get her back on schedule, though.  Is it spring yet? lol
Anywho, 2010 was a lot of firsts for Mackenzie. Let's take a look back...shall we?
